You walk deeper into the catacombs. All around you in this hallway are dead skeletons, dust, spiders, and the moisture on the walls winking at you in the faded light from the blue torches on the walls. Stepping over a cracked and weathered skeleton in your way, you finally find yourself leaving the hallway for a giant, grand chamber. As soon as you enter the cave you feel eyes upon your back. Your skin crawls, your back starts to twitch, and you shudder as a cold breeze inserts itself under your collar. As you walk deeper into the room, spider webs brush your face lightly, and you can feel small creatures scurrying down the neck of your jacket, causeing your heeby geebies to gain in frequency. Brushing yourself off violently, you pull your jacket closer to yourself, and stumble forward into the taller part of the room so that the webs can't touch you any more. Feeling a small tickle on your hand, you look down and see a black widow crawling down your fingers. Shuddering violently, you swipe at the spider, effectively knocking it off of your hand before it bites you.. you hope.
Paying attention to where you are going again, you look around the room you have just entered. Dark and Gloomy, it too is lit by the strange blue torches. There seems to be a strange... nest... in the middle of the room. Not too sure if you want to get any closer, you creep around the Nest, trying to get a better look without actually getting within range of it. Off to the side is a small placard. It looks exactly like those name plates in the catacombs before this room. Walking closer to get a good look, you find that it is completely covered in dust. Brushing off the silt from years and years of sitting down here, you peer at what it says.
'A Dragon, huh?' You scoff to yourself. Suddenly something catches your eye, and you creep slightly towards the nest to see what it was. Getting a better look at what the nest consists of, you decide that you didn't REALLY want to see, after all. Human bones, mixed in with animal bones are spread generously through the dead grassy material that makes up the nest. However, your morbid curiousity pulls you forward. There are eyes behind that nest, in the shadows, and you want to see what they belong to. Suddenly, you see a small white glow coming up from the nest. You concentrate on the glowing figure, trying to make it out better in the poor light, and from so far away. As you concentrate, it begins to solidify, and you suddenly see that there are more than one of the glowing lights. They are winding in and out of the nest materials, weaving all of the bones and grass together. You look closer at what the creatures are doing, and finally see how they are making the nest. The glowing creatures are BENDING the bones.... like rubber. The Blood drains from your face, and you begin to back away. As you do so, the eyes that you had seen previously begin to walk forward out of the shadows. As the owner of those eyes walks forward into the light, you see that they... belong to a... a... dragon.
Seeing your fear, the Adult Fire dragon begins to.. cackle?
You try to scream but find that the air has been sucked out of your lungs. Your eyes begin to bulge out of your head, and your ears begin to bleed with the sound of the Dragon's laughter. Your body locks up and you fight with your own legs to make them move.
However...
The creatures have some better plan for you. Suddenly noticing you, they stop what they are doing with the nest, and raise up to look at you. The more you concentrate on them, and the more you fear... the more solid they become. Suddenly you stop, and REALLY look at the creatures. They appear to be amorpheous creatures, with no true form. Looking into their face, they almost look innocent... sweet. Suddenly, you look one in the eyes. It tilts it's head to one side, and begins to make a noise that you can't really hear because it's too high, and low at the same time in disciples... but makes your body twitch with goose flesh. Suddenly finding these creatures not so innocent, you fight some more with your legs. The Dragon laughs on, but miraculously your legs get movement back in them.
Suddenly, the creature's face splits where the mouth should be, revealing row upon row of vicious, sharp.... bloody.. teeth. The rest of the creatures must have recognized this as a signal, for they all have bared their rows of fangs, and are all starting to float towards you. Fear courses through your body, and you can't control your body when it decides to run. In fact you don't even realize that you are running, until you find yourself trailing through the spiderwebs again. Not careing on whether or not the spiders kill you this time, you blast through their webs, covering your face with your upraised arms to protect it.Your heart beats so quickly that you can't even feel a solid pump from it any more, and your eyes roll around in their sockets, shifting from one shadow to another... while not seeing a single thing.
As you are running away from the creatures, you see a side passage to the left. You hadn't seen it when walking on here, and it strikes you as a possible escape. Do you dare run into it?
Turn Left?
You continue past the other cave, and sprint towards the exit instead. Suddenly, one of the creatures pops up in front of you, blocking off your retreat. But since you aren't seeing anything, you run right... through him? As you do so, a cold chill passes through your very soul, and you feel as if something had been ripped from you. Not careing what it was, you keep running, but find that you feet are starting to fail you. Sluggishly reaching the exit from the catacombs, you drop to your knees, and crawl a few feet. When that fails you, you begin to pull yourself forward, as far away from the doorway into the catacombs as you can possibly manage. Rolling over on your back, you look back at the door, and when you don't see anything, you relax and begin to laugh. Hysterical laughter rolls forth from your throat, and you laugh yourself dry. When you finally clear the tears from your eyes, you look back at the door again...
And there is the creature. Holding something in his hand. His mouth gleams wickedly with black blood, and he shows his prize to you. A Heart. You look down at your chest, and see a gaping hole through your rip cage, about the size of this monster's fist. You look again at the Creature's fist. Your Heart. Grinning wickedly, the creature brings the heart to it's lips. Suddenly, realization runs through you. Fear grips you, as the creature licks the blood from it's fingers. You aren't dead yet.. but you will be the moment it consumes your heart. Suddenly crying out, and clambering to your feet, you begin to run towards the creature. Looking up sharply from cleaning the blood from your heart, the creature beems. As soon as you are only 2 steps away from your heart, the creature bites deeply into it.
Pain spasms through your body, you stumble and fall to the ground in a heap at the creatures feet. Pain parylizes you, and the creatures kicks you over to face him with no effort what so ever. Grinning down at you again, and takes another large chunk out of your heart, and your entire body explodes into a mindless field of pain, writhing and twitching, and spasming uncontrollably. Mercifully, your mind reacts, and you pass out cold into a black sea of death.
